Here’s a picture of me. SMILING WITH MY EYES! Thank-you Tyra! Actually, now that I’m looking at the photo, its less smiling with my eyes, and more like purring with my eyes. Ha ha ha!

This was a test shot I was taking for setting up the tripod and getting the light just right for our shots. I took it and Terry danced around. I ended up loving the shot because it really shows what Terry’s personality is like. Silly!

I consider myself an artist so I got a little creative near the end of the photoshoot. Here’s a photo of Terry after the main photos were taken. It was along day and at this point it was pretty late at night. He’s tired, but happy. Relieved that we’re finally married.

I entitled this shot “aftermath” since it’s our outfits after we took them off. I love it that it’s blurry, too. Happy accident.

And sadly the photo of Terry feeding me cake is a little blurry. Its okay though. Makes it look a little old and antique or something. Well, or something.

Photo of my totally beautiful bouquet! I am totally in love with it. It is still in the fridge because I cannot bear to part w/it. It has hydrangias, cybidiuom orchids, and rosemary. It smells amazing! Also I had the florist tuck one blue butterfly in it to be my “something blue”…

A shot of my wedding cake. I am SO pleased w/ how it came out. It is a replica of a cake that was on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings last year. It’s a two layer Red Velvet cake w/ cream cheese icing…its super delicious…in fact, we’re still eating a peice every night! Ha!

I had to get one of those ubiquious shots of our hands on the bouquet. How did this tradition get started? Nevertheless, here are our wedding rings and my GORGEOUS bouquet again.

I love this shot because you can see how we decorated the kitchen for the wedding. Terry hung christmas lights up around windows and all along ceiling to look like twinkling stars. And I used my fab “scrapbook” skills to make a banner that says “Just Married” in background. Also front & center is my wicked cool cake I made.

And the last shot for today is a shot of us, married. Happy.

Life goes on. We’re finally getting married. I’m so excited about that. It feels like we’ve been engaged forever, but its finally happening. We both agree that spending $10k on a few hours is absolutly ridiculous. That even spending $5k is ridiculous. We have a house and bills and lives and that money could go towards such better things…heck, I’d rather spend the money on the honeymoon! So, we’re just doing the courthouse thing. And then we’re going to have some photographs taken in front of some beautiful waterfalls. We’re still dressing up and everything. I think it’s going to be beautiful and meaningful. I’ll post tons of pics, trust me! I’ll be taking a bunch then we’[ll have the professional ones from the waterfall. We’re going to save up for a honeymoon to be taken later as we cannot afford one right now.

Everything with us is great. The pugs are great although they need their flea medicine and I haven’t been able to afford it being out of work and all. Terry got tenure at work (he’s a teacher) and thats a huge deal. I’m SO PROUD of him! He’s an amazing teacher and the school district is so lucky to have him. My mom is doing great, she is moving out here…hopefully coming soon. She has been procrasting! (It must be a genetic trait) because I have it in spades. My Dad is doing good, he just got back from a vacation to Maine.

YES, dear readers, he dropped my camera into the lake. Somehow it survived although the flash no longer works. I am trying to get a new camera out of the deal though. It is two years old and now the flash is broken.

Well, enough complaining. At least I have a job. So how is everyone doing? I know it’s been a little while since I posted but times have been so busy…! I’m now working a temp job in the meantime but still looking for the “perfect” job for me.

In cases you couldn’t tell I’m also writing now. I’ve always wanted to be a writer; since I was seven years old. I distinctly remember telling my parents that I wanted to be a writer and they bought me the most awesome typewriter for christmas that year. I wish I still had that typewriter. I remember using it up through college, mostly for writing poetry, as I had a personal computer by middle school and it wasn’t practical to write essays on it a typewriter, but it was a grand thing, that typewriter.

I rembember the first book I ever wrote was called “The Secret Doors” and I was in 2nd grade. My teacher thought it was so impressive she entered it into a contest and I came in second place. That was what got me hooked on writing, I think. When I child, my mom described me as someone who could invent a world and amuse herself for hours with nothing more than a peice of string and a paper clip. Now this might sound like an insult, but its not. What she means is that I have a vivid imagination and I’m able to use my mind to come up with whole worlds out of the ether of my imagination. My second novel I wrote when I was 16 and it was a total ripoff of “The Watchers” by Dean Koontz and “Jurassic Park” byMichael Crichton. I loved them both and they completely influenced my writing at that age.

Of course, life took over and I needed to make money. Writers do not not make money right away…if ever. In fact I’m pretty sure the success rate is very low and even if you actually complete your masterpeice, there is absolutly no guarentee that it will sell. I could write the next Harry Potter and no one may ever buy it. I started working full time at twenty and didn’t even get my college degree until years later when I was able to get it at night while working a boring office job during the daytime. The degree made it capable for me to get a better boring office job but it was a lot more stress and when I got home from work I was too exhausted to even think about getting on computer and being creative. Thus my life went on for over a decade. Although I did manage to write a screenplay during that time.

But now I’m currently out of work. Sure, yes, I’m actively seeking out employment (I do have bills to pay!) but while I’ve got this time off, I’m using it to sit down and write one of the novels thats been tossing around in my head for years. And in case you’re wondering, I’m writing a Historical Romance novel. And no, I’m not embarassed or ashamed at that. I know that a lot of people want to write the next “Catcher in the Rye” or “Of Mice and Men” or something terribly literary like that but not me. Some of my favorite books are by the authors Julia Quinn, Karen Marie Moning and Elizabeth Hoyt. I also love Jim Butcher, Laruel K. Hamilton and JK Rowling.

Anyways, I’m at about 12,000 words so far for the novel, so around 1/4 to 1/5 of the way through the novel. Things are going good. I’ve been keeping to my plan to write at least 10 pages a day. Sometimes more. Ideas flowing like wine. Hopefully it isn’t complete drivel. Terry read the first paragraph and he wrinkled his nose and stated, “its a romance novel.” I smacked him. I told him that it was supposed to be one. And he suggested I toss in some ninjas or transforming robots. Ugh. Men!

Anyways, thats what I’ve been up to. Sorry no photos in this post. Also if you are feeling charitable, you’re welcome to go to my Etsy shop and buy something. As I’ve said, I’ve got bills to pay! Support your local artists!
