I’m so excited! We’re either driving tonight to Orlando or leaving first thing in the morning. Mostly it depends on how we feel this evening. But that specifically means that this is my LAST DAY at work for like…two weeks. It’s not that I don’t love my job, because I do, it’s more like I haven’t had a vacation in over a year and I need some time off! And…Disneyworld? Talk about fun!
I will miss the puggies, but they’re going to be having a blast at our Vet, Dr. Jere’s place - they will actually be staying at his house with his dogs sleeping on his couch. So they will probally not want to leave and come back home.
Terry has set up four timers for various lights and radios to come on at random times during the day for security. Not that we really have anything to steal. We just don’t want it looking like no ones home…you know?
We’re mostly packed, just a few last minute things to pack tonight before we go. I’m so excited! Oh, and don’t despair, we’ll probally post more on vacation than we’ve been doing in a while because we’re taking the laptop and I also have the ability to post from my cell phone…so check back frequently for amusing posts and pictures of us on vacation at Disneyworld.

Well, it’s Monday. AND it’s a holiday, if you can call “St. Patrick’s Day” a holiday. I mean, I don’t get the day off from work. I don’t get gifts from my family and friends. There isn’t a party with cake and ice cream. In fact, I think it may be one of the lamest excuses for a holiday that has been yet invented. And green beer? That’s just ridiculous.
But despite all that, it’s also Spring Break here where we live and Terry has the week off. Yeah for him! He totally needed a break, as would anyone who had to deal with 4th grades all day for a living. Yikes! Personally, I think he’s crazy. I could never do that job. And I’m also excited because he promised to fix my dishwasher while he was off this week. Hooray for me!
Let’s see, what did we do this weekend? Not much.
It was a total veg-out weekend for us because I’m still sick from cold I got last week and he was more than happy to cuddle up with me and the pugs on the couch and play video games (we finished “Army of Two”) and watch DVD’s (we’re going season-by-season through all of Deep Space Nine). What a relaxing, wonderful weekend.
And I’d never really watched any of the Deep Space Nine episodes on TV and they’re fun, interesting, thought-provoking at times and well written. I’m getting quite into the show.
Sorry, no puggie pictures today. Except I did make this funny animated picture thing but WordPress won’t let me put it in the post, so you can go look at it if you’d like by clicking here.

Okay, so last week I was in Tampa, Florida for most of the week on business. It was such a beautiful city and warm (80 degrees) - I really loved the city, although I did miss Terry and the puggies terribly. Here are some great pictures I took of the city and my time there. Here’s the skyline right by my hotel. My hotel is the building on the bottow left of the picture…right on the canal! There are these cool river/canals all through the city and the schools are frequently practicing rowing in them, and there will be fancy yachts in them. Very cool! It reminded me a lot of Seville, Spain.

This is a great shot of the University of (Edit: South) Florida in the distance. I was walking home from work for the day (back to my hotel) and crossing over the canal. I turned back and the sky looked so dramatically beautiful behind the backdrop of the School’s turrets. I just had to take a shot. It also looks really cool how the car got kinda blurry in the shot.
This shot is of WFLA-TV NBC in Tampa. This is where I was training. I am training to be the backup for the “Traffic” manager. You can see the station is merely across the canal from my hotel and it’s also in a beautiful location.
Here’s a picture of me walking down the street looking happy in the big city (despite missing my family):
And then finally here’s a shot of what I loved most about Tampa - Deep Fried Cheesecake with cinnamon ice cream. Need I say more?
Oh, and here’s a shot of some cute puggies because it’s nearly impossible to have a post without putting up a picture of them. This is a rare shot of them behaving and sleeping peacefully together.

First off, I want you to know that you’re reading an Award-Winning Blog. I knew my efforts wouldn’t go unappreciated for long…and I was right. Just recently, I won two blogging “awards” and I want to take this opportunity to thank them… before I forget, and then they start talking about me behind my back
and referring to me as “that ungrateful Nevis person”. Sooo…Rusty, thank-you for the award, I’m touched. AND, thank-you Weeny & Daisy for your award….I’m honored!
I’m also putting up pictures of said awards so everyone can look at them, admire them and totally be jealous of me.
Also, have you heard about this internet phenomenon called “Pay It Forward”..? Well, it’s basically this thing where you give (the first three respondents to your post) a handmade gift, and then they have to in return, give away three gifts, and so on. Does that make sense? Well, I responded to my bloggy friend, Clover’s Adventures, and I should be getting a gift from her. I’m SO excited about that…I wonder what I’ll get? Of course, this also means that I have to “Pay It Forward” to three people on my blog - so - that’s you guys. If you’re reading this, I’ll send three of you something handmade. But, you also have to do it on your blog in return. Get the rules? Be one of the first three people to post to my blog and say “I’m In!!!” and you’ll win…!
Let’s see, what else has been going on? My job is sending me to Tampa for some training for a few days during the week of January 28th. I love going to new places but it will be hard to be apart from Terry and Poley. I will miss them! I wish Terry could come with me but he can’t really get the time off work, unfortunately. But I did some research on the city and it looks really pretty! It should be as fun as a business trip can be.
Also, work required me to become a “Notary” for the State of Georgia because aparently I’ll need to notarize things as a part of my job. So I spent the first few hours of my day yesterday waiting in line at the courthouse getting sworn in and made official. So now I’m completely legit and I have this cool stamp with my name on it. I’ve amused myself by notarizing post-it notes, emails, paper air planes, etc around the office. I’m lucky they put up with my shenanigans.
Speaking of shenanigans, what’s going on with Napoleon? Not much new, really. He climbed on of Terry the other day & I took
a picture. Isn’t he adorable!? Poley is starting to get lighter in color and loose his dark trace down his spine. It’s so fun to watch him get bigger! You know, that reminds me of a problem we’re having with him and I don’t know if it’s a Napoleon-issue or a Pug-issue…
Well, when we feed him, he will put his paws in his bowl and flick all the food onto the ground and then eat it off the ground. Or sometimes not eat it at all. I think he’s playing with it, more than anything. Every day we come home and he’ll have flung his food all over his crate! And I’m not sure it’s a “seperation anxiety” thing, because he’ll do it even when we’re home. It’s like he just likes pushing his food onto the ground and eating it there. Is this a pug issue? Is the food bowl possibly not the easiset thing for him to eat out of? I don’t think it’s that, because it’s only about maybe 1 inch tall and rather shallow. Click here for a picture of it. I specifically chose it because it was small and shallow. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
